Are you curious about going to school in America?

It's very difficult for you to forget about school times. Times where every Monday had to take part in a flag ceremony, wear school uniforms, and most importantly a love story at school (whistling) if Chrisye said: "Sungguh aneh tapi nyata tak'kan terlupa...Kisah kasih disekolah... Dengan si dia Tiada masa paling indah... Masa-masa disekolah Tiada kisah paling indah... Kisah-kasih disekolah". Wait, do our friends who study abroad do that too? You know, flag ceremony, wear a uniform, line in front of the class and check your nails before entering class. Are you curious about going to school in America? Because I will discuss the differences education in Indonesia and America.

1. Drill Commands & Padge of Allegiance
In Indonesia, you must be familiar with the flag ceremony, the activities carried out every Monday morning. From elementary school, we have gone through it and we have taught drill commands that are usually done by soldiers. Whereas in America, drill commands are not taught at school. Compared to doing drill commands in the morning before starting learning activities, students in the US do something called a pledge of allegiance. Here, they say a loyalty statement while facing the US flag. The statement reads:

2. School Exams and National Exams
Every student in Indonesia must have been through UTS, UAS, UKK, and even the School Exams and National Exams as a graduation requirement. However, because of the decentralized nature of US government, they do not have national education standards, so they do not have a national examination. Public schools in the US have 3 standard exams, and 2 of the 3 exams do not affect student graduation. The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) test is only used to determine students' learning abilities in an area. Meanwhile, the state achievement test is only used to determine whether a school will get additional funding from the government. In addition, the required tests are only high school graduation exams.

So those are the differences education in Indonesia and America from the articles I read, hopefully useful, always successful, wherever we go to education while we have the intention to live it, just live because success comes from ourselves is not the result of give away.

For those who miss school, let's sing together!
"Kisah Kasih Di Sekolah"

Resah dan gelisah menunggu disini
Disudut sekolah
Tempat yang kau janjikan
Ingin jumpa denganku
Walau mencuri waktu
Berdusta pada guru

Malu aku malu pada semut merah
Yang berbaris di dinding
Menatapku curiga
Seakan penuh tanya sedang apa disini
Menanti pacar jawabku

Sungguh aneh tapi nyata takkan terlupa
Kisah kasih disekolah dengan si dia
Tiada masa paling indah masa-masa disekolah
Tiada kisah paling indah, kisah-kasih disekolah
